Kasperson Week 7!

In Forensics, Psychology, Science - 7th Grade, Science - 8th Grade

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoyed your 3-day weekend!

Updates:

Students attending IN-PERSON will need a notebook for my class! Please make sure they are prepared with a notebook and a writing utensil to minimize shared materials during class.

I love to do many creative projects/activities during class, so I would highly suggest having materials around the house for the HOME-BASED learners such as markers, colored pencils, copy paper, scissors, etc. I want to get them creating things with their hands instead of interacting with assignments over a screen!

What We are Learning:

7th Grade: We have been exploring cells by looking through microscopes to learn! Later this week students will be learning about parts of the cell. Next week we will continue to talk about parts of the cell and they will start a fun project! More details to come!

8th Grade: Students have learned about Punnett Squares to predict which traits might be passed down!. Next week they will learn about recessive disorders, and non-Mendelian traits!

Psychology: Students have been learning neurotransmitters and how messages are passed along through the neurons in our bodies. Next week they will learn about the nervous system and the brain!

Forensics: Students have been learning about direct evidence, eyewitnesses, lineups, and mug shots. Next week students will learn about interviewing witnesses and sketching potential suspects.

Inspiring Quote:

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” -Albert Einstein

What Has Mrs. Kasperson Been Up To? (Please don’t judge my basketball form!!)

Each week I will share a quick video of what I have been up to besides teaching/prepping! I hope it inspires everyone to take some breaks, get away from the screens, and do what fuels YOU! If you need any suggestions, you can steal any of my ideas. 🙂

Here’s the list so far:

  • Cook
  • Play an instrument
  • Eat some frozen yogurt and watch the sunset!
  • Go for a walk
  • Do a workout! (Youtube is a great place to start!)
  • Play basketball

Have a great week. Email me if you have any questions!
