Kasperson Week 6 Updates!

In Forensics, Psychology, Science - 7th Grade, Science - 8th Grade

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are all doing well! I can’t believe next week will be full online while it’s full in person! Please be patient with yourselves and with me as we navigate this transition. It’s not going to go perfectly but we will keep moving forward!

Updates:

Students attending IN-PERSON will need a notebook for my class! Please make sure they are prepared with a notebook and a writing utensil to minimize shared materials during class.

What We are Learning:

7th Grade: We just kicked off our cells unit! This is one of my favorite units so I am very excited about it! Students are learning this week about an introduction to cells/cell theory and the characteristics of living things. Next week they will explore with microscopes. Don’t worry, the online students will still be able to experience microscopes!

8th Grade: We just started the unit on genetics/heredity! This week they are learning about dominant and recessive traits. Next week they will learn more about traits and will learn to draw Punnett Squares to predict what traits might be passed down!

Psychology: Students have been learning about ethical dilemmas in research. Next week they will continue to learn about neurons and how messages are transmitted throughout the body!

Forensics: Students have been learning more skills needed at the crime scene. Next week they will learn about direct evidence, eyewitnesses, and lineups.

Inspiring Quote:

“It’s easy to confuse a lot of activity with a purposeful life.” Bob Goff

What Has Mrs. Kasperson Been Up To?

Each week I will share a quick video of what I have been up to besides teaching/prepping! I hope it inspires everyone to take some breaks, get away from the screens, and do what fuels YOU! If you need any suggestions, you can steal any of my ideas. 🙂

Here’s the list so far:

  • Cook
  • Play an instrument
  • Eat some frozen yogurt and watch the sunset!
  • Go for a walk
  • Do a workout! (Youtube is a great place to start!)

Have a great week. Email me if you have any questions!
