Week Four Kasperson Updates!

In Forensics, Psychology, Science - 7th Grade, Science - 8th Grade

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are all doing well! Everyone is starting to get the hang of the routines and settle into the school year. The consistency has been nice with everything that has changed in our world!

Upcoming Dates:

  • Wednesday, August 24: “A-Day” (Half day for pds 1-3)
  • Wednesday, August 24: “Junior High House Sorting Ceremony” (more info to come!!!)

What We are Learning:

Junior High: It has been a graphing party all week! Students have graphed various types of data in the form of line graphs, scatter plots, bar graphs, and circle graphs. It has been fun to see their creativity in making the graphs artistic and colorful! Next week they will learn to write lab reports, learn about lab safety, and convert between SI Units.

Psychology: Students have been learning about various methods of psychological tests through naturalistic observation, surveys, archival research, and case studies. Next week students will discuss the ethics behind experimental research in a psychology setting!

Forensics: Students are continuing to learn about the skills necessary for analyzing crime scenes. A friend of mine, who is a police officer with Chandler PD was kind enough to let me interview him about crime scenes! Next week students will continue to learn about recording crime scenes.

Inspiring Quote:

“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” -Guillaume Apollinaire

What Has Mrs. Kasperson Been Up To?

Each week I will share a quick video of what I have been up to besides teaching/prepping! I hope it inspires everyone to take some breaks, get away from the screens, and do what fuels YOU! If you need any suggestions, you can steal any of my ideas. 🙂

Here’s the list so far:

  • Cook
  • Play an instrument
  • Eat some frozen yogurt and watch the sunset!
